Dear colleagues, I am putting together a panel for the *ASIS&T 2026 Annual Meeting* (November 6–10 in Bangkok, Thailand) and am seeking 3–4 co-panelists to join the proposal. Panel Title: *Crossing the Boundaries of Truth: Generative AI, Disinformation, and the Global Information Ecosystem* Panel Overview: Aligned with the ASIS&T 2026 theme, *“Crossing Boundaries: Advancing Global Dialogue and Well-being through Information Research and Practice,”* this panel explores the multifaceted intersection of artificial intelligence and disinformation. The rapid advancement of generative AI has fundamentally altered the creation and circulation of deceptive narratives, allowing them to cross geographic, linguistic, and cultural boundaries with unprecedented speed. We will discuss how the information science community can collaborate to steward information integrity. I am seeking diverse perspectives that touch upon (but are not limited to): - *The Technological Boundary:* Deepfakes, large language models (LLMs), and algorithmic amplification in scaling disinformation. - *The Sociocultural Boundary:* How AI-generated disinformation exploits cognitive vulnerabilities and impacts public trust across diverse communities. - *The Policy and Ethical Boundary:* Cross-regional governance, ethical AI development, and the challenges of regulating borderless synthetic media. - *The Institutional Boundary:* Strategic approaches for libraries, archives, and educators to build public resilience through AI literacy and proactive information stewardship.
