The Singapore Internet Research Centre seeks a new Executive Director Nanyang Technological University seeks nominations and applications for the Executive Director of the Singapore Internet Research Centre. The Executive Director will join an award-winning faculty in the School of Communication and Information to oversee research and all operational functions of the Centre. Candidates must be able to provide intellectual leadership to a wide variety of research initiatives, including multi-disciplinary and multi-methodological studies, and to work with a diverse array of faculty and researchers to bring strategic focus to the Centre. Candidates must have administrative and teaching experience and an established body of research. Research experience in Asia is preferred. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: * teaching one course per semester, * mentoring junior faculty, * preparing budgets and grant proposals, * supervising research associates and student assistants, * initiating and maintaining overseas collaborative relationships, * coordinating short- and long-term visits by scholars, * overseeing SiRC publications and publicity efforts, and * organizing conferences, training workshops, and seminars. The Singapore Internet Research Centre (SiRC) is a research initiative at the School of Communication and Information at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. It has recently obtained endowment funding for its operations. The Centre initiates and conducts research related to the Internet and other new media technologies across Asia. Faculty associates of the Centre engage in wide variety of collaborative research efforts with other researchers around the globe. The goal of the Singapore Internet Research Centre is to bring Asian experiences and perspectives to the global discussion about the development, impact, and potential of the Internet, and to conduct and promote broad-based high-quality multidisciplinary research in Internet development, e-services, new media use and social impact, and policy for the benefit and advancement of individuals, organizations, nation and society. The Centre focuses research attention on the experiences of Asian nations with the Internet.
