The Department of Communication at the University of Haifa invites applications from outstanding candidates for an open-rank position.* The Department offers single and double major B.A. programs in theoretical communication studies, a research M.A. and Ph.D. programs, as well as a M.A. in strategic communications. Faculty in the department study and teach the meanings and effects of communication in an age of evolving technologies and cultures, using a variety of methodological approaches. We seek applicants whose research deals with communication broadly-defined, but priority will be given to candidates whose work addresses the contemporary media landscape, with an emphasis on interactive media (e.g., social media, gaming, big data). Three publications in top-tier outlets is a minimal requirement. Only candidates that are expected to have completed their Ph.D. by October 2017 will be considered. The language of instruction at the University of Haifa is Hebrew, but a period of adjustment is an option.
