Hi Denise, You may also want to check out: Sundén, Jenny (2002) “‘I’m still not sure she’s a she’: Textual Talk and Typed Bodies in Online Interaction” i P. McIlvenny (red) Talking Gender & Sexuality: Conversation, Performativity and Discourse in Interaction. Amsterdam and Philadelphia: John Benjamins. This chapter attempts at bridging the gap between 'talk' and 'text' in online dialogues (in this case in a MOO), bringing together CA with theories of textuality and online ethnography. We had a round of emails earlier on how to analyze chat. Apparently the author didn't find papers on analysis of chat using CA techniques.
I am wondering (not my area) if there is a body of analysis on chat using CA techniques. . . .
Cheers, Denise
