This talk proposes a partial taxonomy of such logics through a series of concrete examples, focusing in particular on "pre-emption," "operationalism," "framelessness," and "environmentality." The goal of such a formulation is to start to build a framework for anticipating the social issues that are likely to come to the fore as we rely increasingly on automated media systems in a growing range of social spheres. *About the speaker:* Mark Andrejevic is Professor of Media Studies in the School of Media, Film, and Journalism at Monash University. He heads the Automated Society Working Group at Monash and is a Chief Investigator in the Australian Research Council's Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision Making and Society. *Watch the seminar:* Seminar will be available to stream on YouTube live.
