We invite early career scholars attending AoIR 2016 to participate in a workshop geared just for them. This half-day preconference (morning) will include: 1. an open session: attendees will discuss issues pertinent to junior scholars 2. a panel session: senior scholars will answer questions and offer advice 3. a small-group session: attendees will break into small groups based on institution type and/or geographic region and work with a senior scholar mentor to address specific needs This workshop is meant for people who have obtained their terminal degree and are in the initial stages of their career as faculty member, researcher, post-doc, etc. We already have a great group of senior scholars serving as mentors for this event from different academic systems, but we have room for a few more volunteers (particularly from Australia, Canada, or Europe). All early-career participants must register for the event as part of the general registration for the conference. There is no additional cost for the workshop. We also are asking participants to email 1 to 3 questions that they would like addressed by a panel of established scholars to Andrea L. Guzman (alguzman@niu.edu) AND Jeff Hemsley (jjhemsle@syr.edu). Senior scholars who want to volunteer are asked to contact Andrea and Jeff directly. For more information: http://aoir.org/aoir2016/preconference-workshops/#career See you in Berlin! _____ Andrea L.
