Hi Siriam, There's also a growing body from an anthropological perspective but I've been out of touch for a few years and this is such a fast-moving field. I did my Masters research with Mexican labour migrants to the US a few years ago and there wasn't a lot at the time. However some of the early research is interesting and could provide some insight. The book by Lynn Stephen has a great chapter dealing with local and diaspora websites and touches on social media such as online message boards. Very relevant for research on migrants. This is a query to determine if you are aware of research studies that investigate the how's and why's of the migrant and / or diaspora usage of online technologies and social media (facebook, discussion lists, twitter, etc.,) ?
Many thanks in advance,
