The faculty of Informatics and Communication at Central Queensland University (CQU) has created new positions for lecturing staff to cater for its rapid growth in teaching and research in Information Technology, Information Systems, E-Commerce, Health Informatics, Internet Communication and Multimedia Studies. Graduates working in industry who are interested in a secondment or an academic career, as well as those pursuing relevant higher degrees, are encouraged to apply. Successful applicants will have significant opportunities to contribute to the development of innovative and high-quality programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and to conduct research in the Faculty's research concentration areas. CQU is an integrated multi-campus university, with students at five Central Queesland campuses, and an expanding international clientele at metropolitan and overseas locations. The Faculty of Informatics and Communication manages the learning of over 3000 equivalent full-time students (EFTSU) at all CQU's teaching locations. Successful applicants will join teaching teams servicing these students and developing new courses. Applicants may nominate their preferred Central Queensland location: Bundaberg, Mackay, Gladstone or Rockhampton campus. Each offers a relaxed environment with many 'lifestyle' attractions as well as good amenities on campus.
Applicants should have: at least an undergraduate degree in a relevant field; either progress toward completion of a higher degree in a relevant field or substantial relevant industry experience commensurate with the level of appointment; and, ability to teach at university level as part of a team. Applicants should have expertise in at least one of the following: Information Technology (especially systems administration, data communication, networks, UML, and Internet technologies), Information Systems, E-Commerce, Health Informatics, or Multimedia Studies. Transfer and settling in expenses are available where applicable.
