The New Methods for New Media network at Queen's University Belfast invites you to participate in a Summer School, Friday 13th - Saturday 14th September 2019. All are welcome, from any background/discipline and at any career stage (PhD, postdoc, ECR, more established researchers), affiliated or unaffiliated. In accordance with the New Methods for New Media network aims, the Summer School will provide a space for researchers to share methods, theories and practice in working with data generated by new, digital media. As well as keynote addresses from eminent international scholars who blend qualitative and digital approaches, the programme includes discussions of ethics in digital research and practical workshops on methods, to include the use of R in social media research, corpus and ethnographic approaches and dealing with multimodal digital discourse. A limited number of small travel bursaries are available for potential participants without access to relevant institutional funds (e.g. PG students and independent researchers). Proof of status may be required.
