[Air-l] game image permissions

AoIR folks: Does anyone know what the procedure is for obtaining permission for using captured images from computer games in an academic article? Is it necessary? I have a few images, both captured from games and taken from the web, that are an integral part of an article I've written that is under review. Can these be considered "fair use"?
