Hello, people! This is a nice thread and several fine points have already been raised. I hereby bring my experiences to the discussion. I have already used a few Kindle ebooks on articles I have written and submitted for conferences so far. Since I live in Brazil, it is much faster and less expensive to get in touch with an ebook version than a paper version of the same book. So far the conferences have been national and the papers have been accepted and no questions were raised regarding the accuracy or quality of the electronic references. The method I have used to quote them is: 1. Use and quote as a regular book, changing the "p." to "l.", as below (in portuguese): Ainda segundo Heidegger (Gangle, 2008, l.566-574) o uso da tecnologia modifica as próprias capacidades de pensar a si em relação ao mundo [...] 2. Include a footnote detailing the use of the "l." as related to Kindle content and not a mere typo, as below (in portuguese): A citação de “l.” ao invés de “p.” é adotada informalmente por se tratar de uma citação a partir de uma edição eletrônica do livro adquirida através do sistema Kindle da Amazon.com. 3. In the ending references, the book is listed normally, with the necessary addition of being an electronic source. So far it has worked fine, hope it contributes to the debate. Best wishes, Roberto Tietzmann
