[Air-L] Internet communication usages?

Hello, I am a postgraduate student at the University of Surrey, currently working on my dissertation on language usage and CMC (predominantly email and instant messaging), focusing on judgments and perceptions. I.e., what is 'Netspeak' and what is thought about it. I am wondering if anyone here would know of resources that would be of assistance - in particular, if there are any major studies breaking down Internet communication usage by age and education.
