================================================ New York University Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development Department of Media, Culture, and Communication Assistant Professor, Tenure-Track The Department of Media, Culture, and Communication in the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development at New York University seeks to fill two tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin 1 September 2009. The Department serves over 650 undergraduate majors and offers MA and PhD programs of study. The Department emphasizes interdisciplinary scholarship and encourages applications from a broad range of methodological perspectives. The Department is one of the leaders in global education at New York University with strong ties to international sites in London, Prague, Paris, Shanghai, and Puebla. Qualified candidates should have a PhD with research specialization in one or more of the following fields: digital media; media activism and policy; global and transcultural media practices. Preferred candidates will have a demonstrated interest in interdisciplinary scholarship and current philosophical and theoretical debates in relevant fields. Responsibilities will include an active agenda of research and publication; undergraduate and graduate teaching; and department and university service.
