The beginning fifteen or twenty minutes of Charlie Chaplin's Modern Times is hilariously funny, but also helps the students to understand the critique of modernism, Taylorism, and Fordism. I show it in our Introduction to the Information Society course to help students see a contrast between the "efficient, modernized world," and the networked, information world.
