Jonathan I have done some work recently on data from eBay. 2 of my papers seem to fit your query, 1."COMPARING ONLINE INFORMATION EFFECTS: A Cross Cultural Comparison of Information and Uncertainty Avoidance."- This paper explores information effects on online eBay auctions across 3 cultures, USA, Germnay, and Japan; 2."MANIFESTATIONS OF INTERPERSONAL TRUST IN ONLINE INTERACTION: A Cross Cultural Study Comparing The Differential Utilization Of Seller Ratings By eBay Auction Participants In Canada, France, And Germany." In addition I have some papers that explore the discriminant effect of prices such as reserve price and initial (minimum) price in bidding etc. The above 2 papers are under review, however I would be more that willing to email them to you if you need them. Hope that helps, Arun -----Original Message----- From: Michael Shohat To: air-l@aoir.org Sent: 4/17/2002 11:48 AM Subject: [Air-l] Re: eBay research Dear Jonathan, a good place to start looking for eBay research is David Lucking-Reiley's Homepage - he has some interesting working papers on eBay that include good references: http://eller.arizona.edu/~reiley/cv.html#workingpapers Also very interesting, but in German, is Brinkmann, U., & Seifert, M. Hi All,
A friend writes:
I am looking for some internet research advice and thought you might be the man. I'm working on a paper for SCS on "Ebay as Archive" and surprisingly I am finding very little intellectual work on "the world's largest marketplace." I thought that this might be the kind of topic that gets written about in web journals which I know next to nothing about. Any suggestions where I might go looking?
