usually such conferences have alternates to the industry rates for other groups. However, it does cost money to put on a conference, not necessarily the 600000 budget that i was looking at for another conference last year, but still costs can escalate pretty quickly, luckily aoir does most of our conference on the backs of volunteers, which keeps the costs down to a minimum.
