Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Information Science - to analyse user needs in digital repositories A position has become available for a postdoctoral researcher to work on a 1-year project conducting analysing user needs in digital repositories. The approach will combine qualitative and quantitative methods, employing both colink analysis and interviews. The researcher will interview stakeholders for a range of types of digital repositories in the UK and use automated colink analyses to develop quantitative models of repository effectiveness and user base. Applicants are required to have * A Ph.D. in Information Science * Experience of postdoctoral research * Experience of analysing interviews for research purposes * Knowledge or experience of webometrics, or link analysis The project involves collaboration with another UK university and the researcher should expect to have to travel extensively within the UK for team meetings and conferences. Good communication and team working skills are essential. The salary is expected to be £24,450 for the year and the starting date is predicted to be 1 June 2005.
