Hi Karin, In addition to Sharon's excellent suggestions, my book 'Extreme Mean: Ending Cyberabuse at School, Work and Home)(Random House, 2014, paperback) analyses online communication (youth and adult) within an abuse framework and reaches, in some cases, darker conclusions than boyd's. I have also reproduced previously unpublished online messaging, such as the Facebook attacks in the Amanda Todd (no relation) suicide case to help explore the machinations and mechanism of online communication. Hi Karin,
First of all, danah boyd's great book (2014) on teenagers' communication practices - "It's Complicated" - see full text here - http://www.danah.org/books/ItsComplicated.pdf
As well as Sonia Livingstone's work on teens communication and technology - see this post for example - http://blogs.lse.ac.uk/parenting4digitalfuture/2015/11/13/tweens-teens-tech-...
Good Luck, Sharon

Dear Internet researchers,
I am looking for recent and ongoing work on tween and teenagers' communication practices online and offline. I am especially interested in ethnographies, but anything related is interesting.
The reason is a pilot study of Swedish school children Ï am planning (as part of a larger research project on the transformation of work), and I am happy to connect with other researchers in this area.
Best regards,
