Does anyone know of actual, empirical studies being done on the effects (purported or real) of instant messaging on the written school work of teens and college-aged students? In parts of the world where texting on mobile phones is pervasion, the same question goes for the effects of texting. There's a lot of talk in the media on these issues, but it would be useful to know if anyone has gotten beyond the anecdote stage. Thanks, Naomi Naomi S.
