Hi Bob-- Research on optimal class caps for online classes (undergrad and grad) is desperately needed. It is a research gap that I have noticed time and again. Educators need some good empirical studies that we can use in designing online courses and programs and that we can take to administration as part of proposals. I don't have any resources to share with you, but I would be grateful to anyone who pursues this research. Hello listmates,
I am doing research regarding class sizes in graduate programs, both online and traditional. While I have read quite a bit of anecdotal stuff and talked with many colleagues who have a gut feeling about class sizes in grad programs, I am not finding as much as I would like. If you do research in this area or are interested in it, would you mind sharing resources? I want to put some meat behind the notion that the smaller the class, the better the class or the opposite, if the research supports it.
Thanks in advance!
Sincerely, Bob Batchelor Kent State University http://new.jmc.kent.edu/about/faculty/directory/batchelor.aspx
