Lilly, Much of my art work deals with my interests/questions regarding the practice of ethnography. My recent project, "Revealing Ethnography: Harlem" was a 21-day performance and installation that grew out of my photographs with Harlem community members and my daily logs. As part of the piece, I created a blog of my daily logs with some images from the installation. I found that the blog was a direct way of intergrating my documentation and observations under the semblance of an ethnographic study. Go to: becomingmyth.com. Then click to the link Revealing Ethnography: Harlem. Let me know what you think and if it helps. Hey Lilly, I just finished revising an article (a review of lit) for the Journal of Contemporary Ethnography on online ethnography. I have a long list of references for this type of research. Let me know a bit more about what you are looking for and I can give you some direction.

Hi all-
I was wondering if anyone has come across articles
and literature on
doing online ethnography. I know that AOIR has put together an ethical document on doing online research more broadly, but has there been any kind of exploration of the role and definition of ethnography in online environments? It seems to me that there has been work into online communities and online behaviors and practices through the use offline ethnography, but has there been any kind of consideration of what online ethnography would look like or be defined as?
