Faculty Openings: Social Implications of IT; Information Studies; Human-Computer Interaction. National University of Singapore The Information & Communications Management Programme in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the National University of Singapore seeks two or more open-rank faculty members in the social, political, cultural, and ethical implications of IT. We are looking for a candidate in human computer interaction and IT content design areas as well. The successful candidates will be expected to help develop curriculum, teach graduate and undergraduate courses, and give new research directions to this relatively new programme at NUS. Areas of interest include, contexts of computers and information use; internet studies; ethics and intellectual property rights; connectivity and digital divide; users and identities; gendered aspects of IT; IT and organizations; political implications of IT; information management; surveillance and privacy; cross-national comparisons of IT development; innovations systems and IT; bio-informatics; history of IT; social and cultural aspects of IT design; cultural and critical studies of information society; and social studies of information science and technology. Candidates with expertise in one or more of these areas should submit: (1) a letter of application describing their teaching and research interests; (2) a curriculum vitae; (3) sample written work and syllabus (for junior level appointments); and, three letters of recommendation. PhD is required. Appointments will be on a tenure-track basis, and in exceptional cases tenure will be granted on appointment. Salary and benefits are competitive.
