Dear all, This is just a short notification to say that there is a *Digital Society @ Manchester Met *event happening on Monday 6th– Friday 10th June. We would like to encourage you to attend what promises to be a really exciting series of talks and public engagement activities. Throughout the week, events will be exploring key issues and debates concerning the impact of digital technologies on society, politics, methods, games, arts and the environment. Some key highlights from the programme include: - Monday 6th, 10:15am, Dr. Daniel Greene (University of Maryland) questions whether technological solutions will ever solve complex social issues. - Tuesday 7th, 2pm, Dr. Sara Grimes (University of Toronto) examines the politics of children’s digital and online play. - Wednesday 8th, 10am, Professor Ben Light (Salford University) introduces the ‘covid sex lives project’ and innovative ways to research digital communities. - Thursday 9th, 2pm, Dr. Ben Gwalchmai (SODA) will be taking people into Manchester to explore aspects of augmented reality. - Friday 10th, 1:30pm, Dr. Benedetta Brevini (University of Sydney) critically considers the impact of digital technologies on the planet.
