Hello everyone, I thought you might be interested in this public and international effort to democratize wi-fi. I wonder how long it will take the telecoms to file suit. Be sure to check out the access point map. (The map works in Firefox but not in Safari and I can't vouch for IE). Hi Dan there's been a community wireless network movement going on for several years, if you're interested in Fon it might be worth checking some of the other groups that have been exploring community wide deployments of wifi. I've been studying some of these groups in my current research and will be happy to chat further off the mailing list. It is difficult to sue a loose cooperative of individuals with no formal links to each other. :) The "fon.com" people will probably not last long. They have substantial competition from free wireless community networks.
