Open Access for Academic Monographs Open Access can be just as significant for the academic monograph as for journals. The Why We Post book series has now passed half a million downloads (514,953). Of note are the numbers of downloads in lower income countries ranging from Ethiopia to the Philippines where books might be seen as prohibitively expensive. We are now starting to publish the books in the languages of the countries where the research took place. So last week Social Media in Emergent Brazil by Juliano Spyer also came out as Mίdias sociais no Brasil emergente.
