The book tackles the issue of national identity in the age of digital media from a migration perspective, and introduces a theory and concept of 'doing nation' that puts emphasis on mediated interpersonal everyday communication practices in creating and sustaining the nation and makes an argument that the nation represents embodied cultural and discursive practices. As such, the book argues the nation represents embodied cultural and discursive practices, and not an abstract imagined community, and should be thought of as a verb - 'doing nation', a dynamic process.
