Commercial Survey Creation Programs
Hi, I was wondering if anyone has used Survey Monkey or any of the similar commercial products to create online research surveys? I have concerns about privacy, anonymity & confidentiality, security (particularly in regards to data storage),& usability. Madeline Didenkowski Victoria University, Melbourne
Dear Madeline, My experience: *Privacy: OK *Anonymity & confidentiality: You'll able to see participants' IP address and can use a unique code to track them (if you want). *Security: No problems experienced. Even when I switched back from Professional to Basic membership (after the project was finished), they still stored all my data (although my amount of data was over the limits of a basic account). *Usability: Very ease to create a questionnaire, although the opportunities are limited (also with regard to lay-out). I hope this is of any help. Hi Madeline, we offer WEXTOR at http://wextor.eu . It is more geared towards Web experiments than surveys, can be used for those nonetheless. It is free, unless you would like to keep your account longer than six months or prefer Excel/SPSS compatible data files to log files. We now have about 1600 registered users and no complaints.
