First occurrence of a Twitter hashtag
Hi everyone, A question for all the Twitter researchers out there: does anyone know how to find the first use of a hashtag? I came across the tool Who Tweeted It First (http://ctrlq.org/first/), but it seems to cover only very recent Tweets, and I am interested in a hashtag that has been used for several years. Thank you! Hi Rachel, I'd check with Chris Messina on Twitter. He claims to have invented the first hashtag usage on Twitter. If you know roughly when it started, you can do amazing work with Twitter's Advanced Search https://twitter.com/search-advanced?lang=en Set the date range, enter the query, and you can poke around with historical data samples. I got so excited about this tool when it came out, I made a 2-minute explanatory video: http://www.screencast.com/t/ZppNB6xSiBpk ~Stu On Mon, Mar 27, 2017 at 8:39 AM, Pollack, Rachel <r.pollack@unesco.org> wrote:
