In case anyone's interested (it seems some might be), we just completed a paper on large-scale temporal rhythms in Facebook. We analyzed 4.2 million users' message headers and found some neat weekly and daily patterns in students' Facebook use. This includes how friend/non-friend and sameschool/different-school status affect messaging between users. We also looked a little at pokes.
