Assistant Professor of Communication Studies Hollins University is seeking qualified candidates for a new, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Communication Studies, to begin in August 2008. Successful applicants will be well-rounded, and able to contribute to Hollins' liberal arts curriculum by teaching an array of undergraduate rhetoric courses, including public speaking and argument/debate, and at least one basic interpersonal communication course. Ability to teach a course in web design considered a plus. Responsibilities include teaching six courses/year, advising majors, and helping administer our "oral communication across the curriculum" program. Position offers opportunity to develop new courses in candidate's areas of interest in our popular, interdisciplinary major. Requirements include completed Ph.D. by start date (A.B.D.s considered for instructor rank), teaching experience, and evidence of commitment to scholarly research. Finalists will be asked to submit a writing sample.
