Is there also mobile phone ownership at Eurostat?
yes see http://epp.eurostat.ec.europa.eu/pls/portal/url/ITEM/508EF31506FA0DF0E044000... but the wording of the question(s) have changed over time e.g. 'any in household' to 'I use a mobile phone' A lot of the mobile related content of the surveys/data is to do with internet access & usage via a mobile phone (and presumably now various other kinds of mobile devices). The social significance of 'traditional' uses of a mobile seem not to be considered relevant to policy. Presumably because of their wide penetration and the success of market-led provision. Fortunately (some) national regulators take a different view :-) Ben
