I don't know if INET 2002 was announced on this list. See www.INET2002.org Admission fees ($900) are pegged towards the business community -- not a decision that I support. Hans Klein

Re: politics and ideology of search engines

What bloggers do even more often than link to each other is link to third-party sites and articles using particular terms. The resulting link popularity can significantly contribute to a site's popularity (not the blogger's but an outside site's popularity via results of searches on the particular terms). This phenomenon has been called "googlebombing" by some. See this article for more details: Google Time Bomb: Will Weblogs blow up the world's favorite search engine? http://www.corante.com/microcontent/articles/googlebombs.shtml -- Eszter --- Eszter's List: http://www.eszter.com/elist my new Weblog: http://www.esztersblog.com Nancy Baym wrote: >There was an interesting article recently in salon.com about blogging >distorting google. Net news use question
by ebucy 13 Jun '02

Young users are probably the least likely to visit online news sites, but does anyone know of any (published) research on 18-24 year olds' preference for specific types of online news, especially national newspaper and network TV news sites? Thanks. Either reply directly to me at ebucy(a)indiana.edu or to the list if you think others might be interested. Erik __________________ Erik P.
