Apologies for cross posting ^^ Digital Natives in Australia and Korea For details of the program, visit http://www.dis.unimelb.edu.au/about/news/AKFconf06.html WHEN: Thursday 30 November 2006 TIME: 9:00 - 4:30 WHERE: Yasuko Hiraoka Myer Room, Sidney Myer Asia Centre, University of Melbourne ENTRY: $30, $10 (for students) The Department of Information Systems at University of Melbourne, with the support of the Australia-Korea Foundation and Asialink, is hosting a one-day conference on young people’s digital culture in Korea and Australia. Today's young people are the first generation born in, and have grown up with, the Internet and mobile technologies. They are often called ‘digital natives’. They are native speakers of the digital language of computers, video games, Internet and mobile technologies. Korea is a world leader in the deployment and application of ICT like broadband and mobile internet, and sees new types of digital culture being continuously created by its digital-savvy young generations. Experts from the two countries will examine how information and communication technologies shape the way young people live and communicate in the two countries and how they produce and consume culture.

Hi, I am looking for publications (preferably) and articles on Second Life. I would especially be interested in these that deal with Second Life's economy. I would only be interested in materials that are freely available online.. Thanks! M.K

Re: [Air-l] refs on myspace and facebook (Miguel Afonso Caetano)

Hello Miguel, I`m not exactly writing my MA thesis over myspace, but about netlabels. I`m doing research of 2 netlabels located in Berlin (http://www.myspace.com/pulsarrec and http://www.myspace.com/pentagonik) , which are organizing an event called "netlag" (http://www.myspace.com/netlag ) with music only from netlabels. I found out so far, that (nearly) all the artists are on myspace and they mostly made good experiences (contacts for new projects, find a flat etc.) with it. I'm working on my material, and as Hughie and Marj, I've nothing written up yet. (by the way, first, I'll write it in German...) Anyway, I'm still interested in literature about and research on netlabels and social networking. Greetings, antina PS: gostei de seu blog :) Antina Michels 10407 Berlin / Germany E-Mail: antina.michels@yahoo.comhttp://www.kringelingblog.blogspot.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Regarding this topic, I wonder if there is anyone doing research about the way musicians and bands use MySpace to promote their works. I am especially refering to those artists who cater for niche audiences and release records through netlabels. Thanks, -- Miguel Caetano http://remixtures.com ___________________________________________________________ Telefonate ohne weitere Kosten vom PC zum PC: http://messenger.yahoo.de
