AoIR is the only list that does this to my emails from this account, as far as I know. Does anyone have a suggestion how to change this? Thanks very much. CALL FOR WORKSHOPS AND TUTORIALS The 5th International Conference for Internet Technology and Secured Transactions (ICITST-2010) Technical Co-Sponsored by IEEE UK/RI Communications Chapter, November 8–11, 2010, London, UK (www.icitst.org) The ICITST has been a prime international forum for both researchers and industry practitioners to exchange the latest fundamental advances in the state of the art and practice, Internet Technologies, Secured Transactions, Application of Agents, Human-Computer Interface and Interaction for Ubi-com, Cybernetics, Data Mining, E-Society, Web Sevices, Semantic Web and Ontology, Mobile, Ad Hoc and Sensor Network Security, Digital Information Management and identify emerging research topics. Twitter Export App for Mac?

Tweesearchers (can I claim that?), Thanks for the suggestions thus far! Unfortunately, success has been limited. I am looking at the Twitter feeds of every player in the NFL from a two period in Dec. 2009 (again, I'm way behind). Twitter only keeps 10000 tweets from a single account, the date is irrelevant as I've discovered, but the amount of data saved is the key. Thus an account started in Jan. 2010 by a Twitter user with 12892 tweets will have already had data deleted. Accounts began in Mar. 2009 with only 2167 tweets, will still have all that info accounted for. I only discovered this by manually clicking "more" at the bottom of the page. After 27 clicks, you can sense the frustration building. Searchtastic does not allow one to search an individual feed. For hash tags, mentions, and retweets, it's great. Unfortunately, I'm not looking at that. I have begun using TwapperKeeper, but have found it unproductive at times, especially considering it ranks @person as the least of its search parameters. Thus the search collection takes an hour or more to do. I place a name in at 1 pm, guaranteed it's not ready for me to export by 2 pm. I created a person notebook for ShaunPhillips95, and 25 min later, still not filled. I have been unable to export the data in a reliable manner, nor have I have been able to reliably set date ranges to find the data I desire. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Twitter Export App for Mac?

Theo, Several of us at Old Dominion focus on social media in one way or another, and one of the best resources we use at ODU is TwapperKeeper < www.twapperkeeper.com>. It's a web-based system that will archive tweets. There are limits to how far it can reach backward, so I'm not sure if it will help you much with collecting previous data. But, for active tweet streams, it's fantastic. It does provide the time-stamp information you're looking for. You can download the data into an Excel file, as well. I hope that helps. Theo, Just now when I was searching around for a Mac client I came across a few months ago, I found this site: http://www.searchtastic.com/ which allows you to export Twitter data directly to Excel. This could have saved me so many headaches during our data collection a few months ago. The only downside that I can see is that it doesn't export every column from the Twitter API. But if you only need the Tweets and minimal user data, this works perfectly. There are loads of great programs like BMS Twitter Export for PCs, but if you're on a Mac, it seems nothing's out there. Seesmic allows me to read and search from multiple feeds and organize them in certain ways, but I cannot export them as an Excel or Word file. Since I need the time stamp from four months ago, (yeah, I'm behind in my data collection) it's clunky and unusable. Twitter use in Congress

I thought some of you might be interested in this report about the use of Twitter by Congress members: http://www.fas.org/sgp/crs/misc/R41066.pdf From the summary: "After providing an overview and background of Twitter, the report analyzes patterns of Member use of Twitter during August and September 2009. This report is inherently a snapshot in time of a dynamic process. As with any new technology, the number of Members using Twitter and the patterns of use may change rapidly in short periods of time. Thus, the conclusions drawn from this data can not be easily generalized nor can these results be used to predict future behavior. The data show that 205 Representatives and Senators are registered with Twitter (as of September 30, 2009) and issued a total of 7,078 “tweets” during the data collection period of August and September 2009. With approximately 38% of House Members and 39% of Senators registered with Twitter, Members sent an average of 116 tweets per day collectively. Members’ use of Twitter can be divided into eight categories: position taking, policy, district or state activities, official congressional action, personal, media, campaign activities, and other.
