SUMMARY Fielding Graduate University aspires to be a world leader in Media Psychology science and practice, and graduate training in Media Psychology. Toward this end, we seek to hire a full-time, core faculty member to join our dedicated team. The new core faculty member will teach graduate courses in Psychology and Media Psychology, mentor graduate students, serve on Dissertation committees, and advance their scholarship and/or practice related to Media Psychology. Applications for Doctoral Faculty in Media Psychology will be accepted for consideration until the position has been filled. The position begins July 1, 2022 or later. Tips on passing Facebook App Approval?

Dear fellow media researchers! I am a PhD student studying adolescent wellbeing and social media use at the Games for Emotional and Mental Health Lab in the Netherlands. For the past year we’ve been working on an app that is aimed at helping young adults gaining insight into their social media use. Part of our functionality is to have access to people’s Facebook and Instagram posts and being able to present those posts to users of the app. Naturally, this requires app approval by Facebook. We’ve been through this process once, and since our app was not yet complete then, we got denied on those simple grounds. This time around, we want to make sure that we get as much of it right as we can, since preparing for the application is time consuming and time is limited. I’m sure some of you have had experiences with applying for approval from Facebook? I would be extremely grateful for any tips/lessons learned that you can give us to make this process as successful as we can. Thanks in advance, and have a great week all! Nastasia

The project will include working groups co-hosted by other DC think tanks, commissioned papers, and other multimedia products. The core issue at hand is the future of Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. The ideal applicant will thus demonstrate a deep understanding of Section 230, the First Amendment, and the myriad legal and political issues surrounding online speech. This is a part-time position, the hourly commitment varying from 2-15 hours per week. However, in recent years a number of game scholars have applied intersectional lenses to understand pleasure in all its complexity, challenging both canonical theories of play and celebratory marketing rhetoric. Problematic Pleasures in Digital Games and Play brings four prominent international game scholars into dialogue to critically unpack the diverse and not always harmless ways that pleasure moves us in and through play. Pleasure is not all fun and games, and this unique event will generate new insights and directions of inquiry for game studies and the wider humanities. Featuring: Christopher B.
