From http://www.scholarships.gc.ca/PDRFNonCdn-BRPDEtr-Eng.aspx Application deadline November 15th, 2010 The Government of Canada Awards (GCA) are based on reciprocal agreements between Canada and Foreign governments and are designed to provide research opportunities to promising recent doctoral graduates in the form of Post-Doctoral Research Fellowships (PDRF) to non-Canadian researchers tenable at recognized public Canadian universities and affiliated research institutes. The Government of Canada’s objective in establishing the Canadian Post-Doctoral Research Fellowships (PDRF) is to attract recent Ph.D. graduates to do research in Canada. The Government wishes to support research that clearly advances the scholar's own career and that is useful to Canada or to the research team within which the scholar proposes to work. Applicants must: • be citizens of one of the following countries: Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Norway, Republic of Korea, Russia and Switzerland. Applicants who have obtained Canadian citizenship or applied for permanent residency in Canada are ineligible; • have completed a Ph.D. degree within the last three (3) years or have completed the Ph.D. degree requirements before taking up the award (evidence of submission of dissertation for defence provided by the responsible department head); and • be accepted into a post-doctoral position at a recognized public Canadian university or affiliated research institute of their choice. Priority will be given to candidates who have not previously studied in Canada under a Canadian government scholarship.

Thanks, Nicole Two Faculty Positions AT&T Scholars Department of Telecommunication, Information Studies, and Media Michigan State University The Department of Telecommunication, Information Studies, and Media (TISM) at Michigan State University invites applications for two tenure stream faculty positions, each carrying the title of AT&T scholar. These positions are supported in part by an endowment from the AT&T Foundation. Each position may be filled at either the assistant or associate professor level. Successful candidates are expected to gain recognition through peer reviewed scholarly publications and to pursue external funding to support their research. Applications are encouraged from scholars working within a diverse range of disciplinary and methodological traditions whose research addresses the impact, use, design, or management of information and communication technologies. A PhD in a relevant discipline is required. The TISM department is home to a dynamic, interdisciplinary faculty internationally renowned for their cutting-edge research on the uses and implications of information and communication technologies and other media. Our curricula address both the theoretical and practical aspects of media use, and our alumni have achieved positions of prominence in industry, government, and academia. Projects involving cross-disciplinary teams are actively pursued and encouraged. Current research foci of the department include social media, serious games, ICT for development, ecommerce, economics and policy for the communications sector, and content for new media platforms. The department also houses programs in film, documentary and media design.
