Books specifically for student engagement and multi-modal learning in distance learning?

Hi all, As everyone is racing to prep distance-learning materials (we in Sweden are a few weeks behind in this), I'm inquiring if anyone has good book resources that cover student engagment and multi-modal exercises for distance learning? For in-person teaching, I utilize these books, which provide a sense of what i'm looking for, but in distance teaching (note the below links will take you to Google Sweden, but the info should be in english still): 1. Student Engagement Techniques: A Handbook for College Faculty<https://books.google.se/books?id=muAStyrwyZgC&dq=student+engagement+techniq…> 3. Collaborative Learning Techniques: A Handbook for College Faculty<https://books.google.se/books?id=ITSCzUKz1KAC&dq=collaborative+learning+tec…> I utilize these for in-person courses, and the are **great**! Does anyone have examples of these, but for distance learning? (Of course, with some time and effort, these books can be tailored to distance learning). 2nd, multi-modal might be similar to having students writing a blog post after a distance learning lecture/meeting, and then recording a "diary" post reflective about the blog writing (issues of privacy, legality are obvious here, but mentioned purely as an example). I send my regards to all those freaking out and working extra long hours in attempts to create nurturing, inspiring digital classrooms for thier students. This article is a contribution to critically theorising the changes societies have undergone in the light of the coronavirus crisis. It asks: How have everyday life and everyday communication changed in the coronavirus crisis? How does capitalism shape everyday life and everyday communication during this crisis? Section 2 focuses on how social space, everyday life, and everyday communication have changed in the coronavirus crisis. Section 3 focuses on the communication of ideology in the context of coronavirus by analysing the communication of coronavirus conspiracy stories and false coronavirus news. The coronavirus crisis is an existential crisis of humanity and society. It radically confronts humans with death and the fear of death. This collective experience can on the one hand result in new forms of solidarity and socialism or can on the other hand, if ideology and the far-right prevails, advance war and fascism. Political action and political economy are decisive factors in such a profound crisis that shatters society and everyday life. Advice for Converting to Online Conference Format during Covid Crisis

Hello AIRers I recently attended an in person conference and am looking for advice on how to convert aspects of a face to face conference to an online format. This list may be able to offer some advice or references. In terms of software applications, My experience with hosting classes so far has been with Zoom, and I am familiar with Webex and other applications but have no experience being a host on them. Conference components under consideration 1) Panelist Presentations -This is the easiest component that can be done online 2) Discussant feedback -Also achievable online 3) Audience Q&A -Achievable with a moderator I lose track of the order of the students asking questions in class more often online than in person classes 4) Poster sessions -Can be replicated as a repeated slide presentation with content from poster 5) Formal networking sessions -Difficult to replicate online, any ideas? 6) Table discussion e.g. at a dinner or conference banquet -Difficult to replicate online, any ideas?
