I know this has been asked before, but not very recently, and I'm hoping that there might be some new tools available. I have a PhD student who wants to search for posts using hashtags on Insta from a specific month in 2020. A rich array of network services is expected to emerge seeking to realize greater synergy across the various component subsystems of the NextG Integrated Communications and Computing Systems. The main focus of the HPSR 2023 - the 24th edition of HPSR conference - will be to assess how breakthrough changes occurring to NextG Integrated Communications and Computing Systems are affecting areas related to switching and routing, and NextG networks and systems in general. We are soliciting original and thought-provoking works on big data, data analytics, cloud and edge services, and artificial intelligent techniques applied to networking and switching and routing. PD must increasingly be able to address and serve various global contexts. Overall, then, there is a fundamental need to raise previously unheard global voices in technology design and development, and to bring various stakeholders together. The bread and butter of participatory methodology has been physically co-located creative work with participants, with the aim to immerse the practitioners in the use context, and to learn about the practices, needs and values relevant for the stakeholders in this context. This embedded, hands-on work is crucial and arguably forms the basis of PD practice. Often, this has also meant that PD research teams have been mostly physically co-located, at least for the duration of the PD process. This approach has fundamental validity, as PD requires an in-depth understanding of the cultural context in which it is performed. Nevertheless, this approach also has its drawbacks, as collocated work means both geographical and financial limitations to the type of work that can be accomplished. Conducting multi-site co-located work may be prohibitively time-consuming and expensive, and may also require extensive physical capabilities from both practitioners and participants, leaving many voices unheard. Furthermore, the rapid adoption of various synchronous and asynchronous communication methods through online collaborative tools offer opportunities for more continuous, more dispersed, and more diverse PD research settings and processes. During the world-wide social distancing efforts of 2020–2022, an enormous leap forward was made seemingly overnight in adopting novel modalities of participation and collaboration. As we have sincemoved into a post social distancing world, it is important and timely to both seize the lessons learned from the pandemic-induced forced hybridization of PD, and to keep developing the potentialities that emerged from the experience. However, this opportunity also raises several questions, including: How can we enable various global stakeholders to take part in global hybrid PD? How can PD practitionerswork across cultural spheres in distant settings, and how can we perform culturally aware and sensitive work without ‘being there’? What can a partly technology-mediated PD process consist of, what knowledge can it produce, and what limitations does it have? What novel challenges and opportunities pertaining to accessibility emerge in a technology-mediated PD process? What values, competences and awareness do PD practitioners need when conducting PD work in culturally diverse hybrid settings? What PD processes or methods are not suited to hybrid work and best left for the “nonline” world? What theories, methods and lessons from other fields of research, e,g, from remote ethnography or Computer-Supported Collaborative Work, could be applied? In the past few years, many of them have led to a flourishing of international initiatives and growing research concerning the ethics and governance of AI. This special issue solicits the submission of original articles that investigate how AI is transforming classic questions or leading to new ones in moral thinking, and how such questions may be addressed successfully. Dear all, I would like to share a call for a PhD funded we are opening at the INTERACT group <https://interact.oulu.fi/> (University of Oulu). The position is linked to the Horizon project “Democracy meets arts: Critical Change Labs for building democratic cultures through creative and narrative practices” (Critical ChangeLab), starting next April 2023. Below I include a description and the relevant links to the call. Do not hesitate to contact in case you have questions. *Call for a funded PhD position at INTERACT, University of Oulu* We are looking for a person interested in a PhD position for conducting interdisciplinary research combining child-computer interaction, creative/arts-based practices and critical education. The research will be conducted in the context of the European Union funded research and innovation project “Democracy meets arts: Critical Change Labs for building democratic cultures through creative and narrative practices”. The ideal candidate has a critical understanding of technology and making/digital fabrication/prototyping skills. We are looking for bold and creative thinkers willing to embrace participatory design with children and diverse stakeholders to reimagine democracy. Research duties include reviewing relevant literature, collecting empirical data through working with stakeholders (schoolchildren, teachers, activity organizers, and other relevant actors), analyzing the data with help of theoretical frameworks, and writing academic conference and journal publications. The position also includes some teaching duties. Finnish skills are desirable, but not a must. TikTok Bans and Research

Hi All, I just realized that I can no longer access TikTok from work computers. This is in compliance with a policy about TikTok in Texas. Since the American federal government and other states are banning it as well, I'm wondering if anyone has figured out an effective workaround. This is a big barrier to conducting academic research on TikTok, social media, or just the cultural world. Any suggestions would be useful. Best, Germaine --- Dear colleagues, We invite you to participate in a 2023 ICA postconference workshop, Reimagining Urban Communication: Methods, Ethics, and Praxis in a Digital Age <https://www.icahdq.org/mpage/ICA23-UrbanComm>. The full-day workshop will be held on *May 30th, 2023, at the Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University)*. We aim to convene scholars and practitioners interested in topics such as the mediated representation of urban (sub)communities; digital rights and inequalities; datafication; and communication and social change. Work foregrounding questions of power and inequality from local, global, and/or transnational lenses, underrepresented regions and communities is encouraged. All presenters will be considered for inclusion in a special issue or other publication or venue (to be discussed at the conference). Beyond the intellectual exchanges, we hope to use the post-conference as a space for networking and mentorship for researchers from a variety of disciplines and career stages. We also anticipate having funds to support travel for some early career and underrepresented scholars to attend. Please submit 300-word abstracts, including your name, affiliation, and 150-word bio to the link below *by 3 February 2023*. Notifications will be sent out by 10 February 2023.
