Successful candidates will be expected to teach at all levels and to develop a significant collaborative research agenda that builds departmental distinctiveness in the intersection of disability and media studies. The constitution and meaning of trust in digital times” from 23 – 25 November 2017.* The Late Autumn School is designed both for the PhD students of the Research Training Group and graduate students from other universities in Germany and abroad. Especially invited are PhD and talented master students from the following research areas: communication science, psychology, economics, information systems and sport & exercise sciences. International researchers will join the Late Autumn School as keynote speakers: Prof. Dr. Roger Mayer (NC State University) Prof. Dr. Sirkka Jarvenpaa (University of Texas) Prof. Dr. Yariv Tsfati (University of Haifa) The participants and the invited researchers will discuss the constitution and meaning of trust in digital times. Furthermore, the participants are given the opportunity to discuss their research projects with the keynote speakers in workshops. We invite students who feel they would benefit from this kind of feedback on their research to use this unique opportunity to share their work with students in a similar situation as well as senior researchers in the field. The consortium will be organized with 8 to 12 presentations by the students, whose applications have been selected by the Student Consortium chairs and potentially other reviewers. The strongest candidates will be those who have a clear topic and research approach, and have made some progress, but who are not so far along in their research that they can no longer make changes. The final version of accepted SC submissions will be included in the main conference proceedings published in the ACM DL. Complimentary/reduced conference registration will be available for students. Student Consortium participants will also be given high priority when applying for the student travel awards. We seek exceptional interdisciplinary candidates with a high quality research and publication record to strengthen and complement our existing research strengths. We welcome applications from scholars at all ranks and with a variety of disciplinary backgrounds including social and behavioral sciences, communications, statistics, human-computer interaction, business, law, machine learning, and information sciences. We are seeking applicants from all areas of security and privacy, including the behavioral, organizational, cultural, societal, ethical, legal, or socio-technical dimensions of security and privacy research. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, research identifying cybersecurity and privacy risks and studying potential solutions at the individual, group, organizational, market, and societal levels; examining intended and unintended consequences of security/privacy practices and policies; predicting effective responses by individuals or organizations to cyber-attacks and threats; evaluating the usability and utility of security/privacy enhancing technologies; applying data analytics and machine learning techniques for assessing, predicting, and enhancing security/privacy aspects of systems and human behavior. Successful candidates will be expected to develop an internationally competitive, externally funded research program, and contribute to graduate and undergraduate education and training. The College of IST has a strong, externally funded interdisciplinary research program in Security and Privacy. Current research strengths include information security, privacy, human factors, crisis informatics, game and control-theoretic analysis, and several cross-cutting areas. Our College has other world-class research groups in Human Centered Design and in Data Science, and we are eager to strengthen our collaborations with these groups. Additional opportunities for research collaboration are offered by the Institute for Cyberscience, the Social Sciences Research Institute, and the Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences which serve as focal points for trans-formative research in areas of critical national priority. The College has a strong graduate program (with over 100 Ph.D. students), and highly successful undergraduate programs.
