What would symbolic interactionism look like in a world where interaction no longer takes place within bounded situations and is constantly documented as durable digital objects? We're looking for a candidate who pairs technical abilities or deep knowledge about technology, with a passion for teaching and mentoring undergraduates. The clinical position is a teaching position with a 4/4 teaching load. These positions are well established at UNCG, and have competitive pay, promotion, and terms of appointments, which provide similar privileges to tenure. While the announcement says we're currently reviewing applications, we haven't had the opportunity to begin reviewing applications and the next committee meeting scheduled for 1/18. Just got this in past the post by a few minutes on 12 streams day 3! It's something that I missed streaming a couple of weeks back, that I've reconstructed from the zoom. Two great presentations, fantastic projects. What's notable is that a) the ISOC Foundation is showing broader scope than the Internet Society itself, and encouraging Chapters to do the same, b) in the case of Zimbabwe, a combined Beyond the Net and a research project has enough clout to sway the country's policy on e-waste, c) in the case of Serbia, a DIY open hardware project shows promise of scaling widely, while providing hard data for activists, and also giving the chapter a high profile.
