Importantly: - Do not change the paper size (A4) or margins in the template. - The headers and footers must remain empty. (They should not contain page numbers or anything else!) - Formatting of the paper must be done using the pre-defined MS-Word styles in the template, rather than manually. The paper must use all the predefined font styles, sizes etc. as per the template. - Basic examples of citations and references are included in the template, but authors are required to fully adhere to the guidelines and instructions stipulated in the IEEE Reference Guide at http://ieeeauthorcenter.ieee.org/wp-content/uploads/IEEE-Reference-Guide.pdf. (Where there are conflicts between the template and the IEEE Reference Guide, the IEEE Reference Guide prevails.) - Please ensure that all template text (guidance text for composing and formatting conference papers) is removed from your conference paper prior to submission. - Papers will be accepted only by electronic submission through the conference website, from which guidelines and templates are available. Submissions will not be accepted via e-mail. A blind peer-review process will be used to evaluate all submitted papers. Please note that due to the tight timelines, in the second CFP round, authors whose papers are accepted or conditionally accepted will have only about one week to complete their revisions and submit their camera-ready versions. Consequently, in this round papers requiring extensive revisions are more likely to be rejected outright than in the first round. MINA X Submissions for the 10th International Mobile Innovation Screening & Festival are now open at [1]https://mina.pro/submit/ & [2]https://filmfreeway.com/mina The Mobile Innovation Network and Association, MINA, will present a public screening of smartphone, mobile and pocket films at IMSC, International Mobile Storytelling Congress, at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (13-15 November 2021) and in Australia and New Zealand via Urban Screen TV. MINA is the longest running film festival dedicated to celebrating mobile and smartphone film-making in the Southern Hemisphere. MINA creates connections between filmmakers, communities and the creative industries. Hello AoIR Friends, We are delighted to announce that all 83 spotlight talks of full & work-in-progress papers from the 2020 International Conference on Social Media & Society (#SMSociety) are now available online. The conference, which is being held virtually this year, is currently underway. As a way to introduce ourselves to other great academic communities, we like to invite you to explore this year’s presentations before they are gone. The presentations are groups into ten broad tracks: 1: Bots, Bad Actors, Anti-social 2: Digital Methods 3: Discourse and Public Opinion 4: Health & Wellbeing 5: Marketing & Outreach 6: Misinformation 7: Online & Offline Communities 8: Politics 9: Privacy, Security, Trust 10: Use & Users The full list of presentations is available at https://socialmediaandsociety.org/smsociety-presentations-2020/ We have also made the *Featured Panel* on “*Diverse Voices: Promises and Perils of Social Media for Diversity*” available at https://socialmediaandsociety.org/2020/smsociety2020-how-to-participate/. The panel tackles many of the pressing questions that society is grappling with, including: - Can human society handle the connection of diverse and divergent (often conflicting) voices on social media? Is empowering every voice via social media a net good? - Under what conditions can social media build bridges across differences? When does social media reinforce division? *Background about the conference*: The 2020 International Conference on Social Media & Society (#SMSociety) is an annual gathering of social media researchers from around the world. It is the premier venue for sharing and discovering new peer-reviewed interdisciplinary research on how social media platforms impact society.
