Spatial linked data has recently transitioned from experimental prototypes to national infrastructure. However the next generation of spatial knowledge graphs will integrate multiple spatial datasets with the large number of general datasets that contain some geospatial references (e.g., DBpedia, Wikidata). This integration, either on the public Web or within organizations has immense socio-economic as well as academic benefits. The upsurge in Linked data related presentations in the recent Eurogeographics data quality workshop shows the deep interest in Geospatial Linked Data (GLD) in national mapping agencies. GLD enables a web-based, interoperable geospatial infrastructure. This is especially relevant for delivering the INSPIRE directive in Europe. Moreover, geospatial information systems benefit from Linked Data principles in building the next generation of spatial data applications e.g., federated smart buildings, self-piloted vehicles, delivery drones or automated local authority services. This workshop invites papers covering the challenges and solutions for handling with GLD, especially for building high quality, adaptable, geospatial infrastructures and next-generation spatial applications. We aim to demonstrate the latest approaches and implementations and to discuss the solutions to challenges and issues arising from research and industrial organizations. The Association of Internet Researchers invites submissions for our 25th annual conference, #AoIR2024: Industry <https://aoir.org/aoir2024/aoir2024cfp/> (Sheffield, UK, 30 October - 2 November, 2024), which will take place at the University of Sheffield. The deadline for submissions is 1 March 2024 at 11:59 PM UTC. (What time is that for me? <https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?msg=AoIR2024+Submissi…> ) For this year’s conference we are excited to be introducing more extensive hybrid options than in the past, while ensuring that this does not impact on the unique atmosphere that makes AoIR’s conference everyone’s favorite conference. To this end, we shall be accepting proposals for papers to be presented remotely and we will be live streaming a number of the sessions, allowing for remote participation in the conference. Given that this is quite a big step for us, we shall be limiting the number of remote presentations to one or two per paper panel, and only for some of the panels per session. In addition, two of our core events will continue to run in both face-to-face and online versions: the Doctoral Colloquium <https://aoir.org/aoir2024/subtypes/> and the Early Career Researcher (ECR) event. Dear AoIR, The Path to Power: 2024 project utilises the unprecedented opportunity of more than four billion people voting in elections in 2024 to generate a comparative picture of the contemporary state of democracy, political communications, influence operations, and digital media through diverse case studies. The aim of these sessions is to disseminate recent important research contributions and spark discussions between authors and researchers in the CAiSE community. Authors of selected journal articles on CAiSE-related topics will be invited to present their work at the conference. SCOPE For the journal-first sessions, we solicit submissions related to articles that have been accepted for publication by a reputable journal and that meet the following criteria: • The article relates to the topics of the CAiSE conference and the recent call for papers. • The article is an original submission to the journal and not an extension of an earlier conference or workshop paper. • The article is an original research article; review articles or commentaries will not be considered. • The article was accepted for publication by a journal on or after 1 January 2023, the acceptance must have been publicly announced, the article must be available at the publisher’s website (e.g., as "articles in advance" or published on a journal’s website), and the article must be written in English. • The article has not been presented at, and is not under consideration for, journal-first tracks of other conferences. FORMAT Accepted submissions will be presented as part of the CAiSE 2024 scientific programme. The deadline for submissions to Situating Data Practices Beyond Data Universalism, the 5th International Data Power Conference is *19th January 2024. * The 5th International Data Power Conference will take place 4th – 6 th September 2024, online and in person at the International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIIT-B), India and the University of Graz, Austria. *Call for abstracts* The Data Power Conference hosts critical reflections on data’s power and the social, political, economic and cultural consequences of data’s increasing presence in our lives, workplaces, and societies. The 5th International Data Power focuses on situating data practices and looking beyond data universalism (Milan and Treré, 2019). It aims to: - Situate data practices in the power relations that shape their creation and use in the world - Explore the importance of place, space, time and context in the making of data and the effects of data power - Examine the centres of data power and their infrastructures In addition, the conference asks: - What constitutes rigorous methods when it comes to researching data power locally and globally? - To what extent does critical data power research need to focus on specific instances of data power in action? - What generalised critiques can be made from our field? To facilitate dialogues across disciplines and with stakeholders, we welcome papers from interdisciplinary teams including disciplines incorporating aspects of data science, and papers which incorporate non-academic collaborators from a range of sectors. As always, the Data Power Conference remains concerned with in/equalities, discrimination, questions of justice, rights and freedoms, and agency and resistance.
