Dear all Curtin is seeking to appoint up to 10 postdoctoral fellows at Lecturer level (3 year + 2 additional years, with possible confirmation at Senior Lecturer after), commencing in 2005. Overseas applications are especially encouraged These are prestigious research-only positions that provide an opportunity for dedicated research, with some supervision, followed by a possible move to a continuing research+teaching position. I am seeking to promote applications for these positions in the broad fields of Internet Studies, interactive digital media and would welcome receiving an expression of interest from potential applicants so as to assist you in finalising your application. I am also able to advise on the range of other staff with whom you might be working in cognate areas such as multimedia, art, education and so on. Hi, I thought this could be of interest for affiliates from developing countries dealing with ICT4Development research and related areas: "UNESCO is calling on young researchers with advanced degrees (M.A., M.Sc. or equivalent) in developing countries to apply to the UNESCO/Keizo Obuchi Research Fellowship Programme for fellowships ranging from US$ 6,000 to US$ 10,000. The amount varies according to duration and place of study. The Programme is financed by Japan through its funds in trust programme for capacity-building of human resources. The Programme is named after the late Japanese Prime Minister Keizo Obuchi, who was known for his commitment to furthering development. It grants a total of 20 fellowships a year to researchers in four areas: environment, intercultural dialogue, information and communication technologies, and peaceful conflict resolution. That's right - Liz Ferrier and I are editing an M/C Journal (www.media-culture.org.au) issue on 'order'. Article submissions are still open - and we're happy to receive article on both online and offline media and their relation to the creation, maintenance, or challenging of 'order'. You'll note that the target date for the issue is close to the US Presidential election, too, so any articles providing a timely assessment of the connection of the media to the election or the dominant themes of GWB's first term are particularly welcome.
