Our events provide an opportunity to network and share ideas and interests from the different fields of information science and related disciplines. *The CAPTURE* *project* CApturing Paradata for documenTing data creation and Use for the REsearch of the future (CAPTURE). We might have enough data about data, but not a good enough understanding of how the data came about. CAPTURE investigates what information about the creation and use of research data (that is, paradata) is needed and how to capture enough of that information to make the data reusable in the future. The wickedness of the problem lies in the practical impossibility of documenting and keeping everything, and the difficulty to determine how to capture just enough. The empirical focus of CAPTURE is archaeological and cultural heritage data, which stands out by its extreme heterogeneity and rapid accumulation due to the scale of ongoing development-led archaeological fieldwork. Within and beyond this specific context, CAPTURE develops an in-depth understanding of how paradata is being created and used today and elicits methods for capturing paradata. CAPTURE tests new methods in field trials and synthesises the findings in a reference model to inform the capturing of paradata. Enabling data-intensive research using heterogeneous research data stemming from diverse origins. The project is directed by Professor Isto Huvila. Communities of all sizes and compositions, urban, suburban, or rural, dominant or traditionally marginalized, need the ability to access reliable, useful, and meaningful information. Information access has physical, social, and intellectual aspects (Burnett, Jaeger, & Thompson, 2008), which need to be contextualized in specific communities, times, and places. Access can be facilitated or constrained through specific policies, practices, companies, and social and civic institutions such as libraries and information organizations. In this call for papers, we seek article submissions that problematize, contextualize, and begin to resolve the complexities of information access for communities. We are particularly interested in articles that offer useful practices of and for information access in the United States, globally, and comparatively. Submissions may be specifically focused on particular aspects or examples of information access, such as what we have learned from past moments of broadband support and financing or the role of libraries in facilitating broader forms of information access. Other submissions may present a broad overview of the state of information access. Submissions may take a historical, theoretical, or empirical approach. We welcome submissions that describe (or problematize) practices, models, or theories related to information access (such as net neutrality, content moderation, or internet filtering). We welcome submissions that consider information access in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, from an international perspective, with an interdisciplinary lens, and through the use of multiple methodologies. Climate adaptation in times of increasing polarization and misinformation”. The overall aim is to research how actors mobilize science and climate obstructing resources to influence the work to reduce climate-related risks and harmful effects at municipal and regional level. A case study relevant to the project can examine ongoing conflicts around climate adaptation plans, the calculation of municipal carbon budgets, and/or the introduction of climate adaptation measures, where an obstructive measurements are invoked by some actor. The doctoral student has a great responsibility to independently formulate research questions, choose theories and methods, collect empirical material and analyze the results. The focus of the thesis work will be determined in consultation between the doctoral student and they supervisor. The dissertation project is intended to result in a case study that is both empirically grounded and theoretically informed. We are looking for a candidate with a background in theory of science, sociology, political science, anthropology, history, history of ideas, or other social science. Great emphasis will be placed on previous experience in writing about and analyzing issues related to the project's themes: Climate change, science-denying discourses, anti-environmental movements, municipal and regional decision-making. Previous experience in applying methods relevant to the project is meritorious, as is an interest on the part of the candidate in the challanges brought up to date by the project. The ambition to engage in and learn from the research conducted at the three research environments behind the project is welcomed. Mastering Swedish or another Scandinavian language is necessary. To deal with the involved complexity, and driven by the requirements of autonomy and scalability, distributed resource orchestration approaches appear as a necessity rather than a desire. The REFRESH Workshop aims at to stimulate research on the most novel topics of real-life modeling in 5G/6G networks and beyond. Digital governance can be a strong tool to achieve a better and more sustainable world. The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) present the most challenging problems and ways to overcome them as a global community. This Track aims to include paper presentations that link the digital governance systems' planning, implementation or evaluation to the UN SDGs. Studies showing how digital governance systems can help achieve goals towards SGDs, identifying problems of implementation or cooperation, and evaluating the impact of digital governance systems on the Goals are welcome in this track. ICEGOV 2023 returns to South America after the editions of 2009 (Colombia) and 2016 (Uruguay). This time, BRAZIL is the host country, with the city of BELO HORIZONTE setting itself up to be the hotspot of Digital Governance between 26-29 SEPTEMBER 2023. This year's theme focuses on Digital Governance for Democratic, Equitable, and Inclusive Societies. Citizen-centric values such as inclusion, participation, engagement, and transparency in government should be at the forefront when it comes to digital governance initiatives. In a networked, globalised, and increasingly data-driven world, in which democracies are put to the test, digital governance continues to play an important role. Citizen-centricity has proven difficult to achieve in practice, and there are challenges and limitations to reaching more democratic, equitable, and inclusive societies through digital governance. Kia ora koutou katoa / Greetings AOIRers, A quick note to let you know about an event next month that you may be interested in. Clickwork. Quiet quitting. Bossware. Gigging. Automated Management. Precarity. In the face of advanced technologies, post-pandemic conditions, and intersecting economic and ecological crises, labour is undergoing a series of substantial upheavals. Old paradigms are being rethought; new modes of production are being unlocked. Work is being reworked. In some ways, these shifts are unprecedented; in others, they continue long standing inequalities predicated on race, class, and gender. How do we make sense of these digitally-driven shifts and their social, cultural, and political consequences? This two-day event brings together scholars from media and communication, migrant studies, business and management studies, and other disciplines to develop a rich portrait of our changing work conditions. AoIR Executive Committee Nominations deadline: 26 March

I am happy to announce that nominations for the new Executive Committee, to take office in October of this year and serve until October 2025. Nominations are open. Below, you will find: (a) a timeframe for the election, (b) a description of the AoIR governance system and the elected positions, (c) our nominations and elections processes, and (d) some key questions for candidates. *A. Timeframe of the Election:* 1. The call for nominations opens on 11 March 2023 and will remain open for fifteen (15) days. 2. *Nominations for all positions close on 26 March 2023.* 3. Candidates will be listed on aoir.org and further information will be made available on our membership system, where discussion fora will let you ask questions of the candidates. 4. Voting begins on 22 April 2023 at our online balloting site and will remain open for ten (10) days. (Details for accessing this site will be sent in a later message through our membership system.) 5. Voting ends on 1 May 2023, expiring at 12:00 noon, U.S. Eastern Time in the State of Delaware. Election results will be announced on air-l. The new Executive Committee is formally introduced and assumes its duties during the Annual General Meeting during the AoIR conference in Philadelphia, on 21 October 2023. More information about our election processes can be found in the AoIR Bylaws: https://aoir.org/bylaws/ Candidates should familiarize themselves with the duties laid out in the Bylaws. I also encourage persons interested in running for a specific position to contact me or any of the current office-holder(s) with any questions. In particular, the Treasurer needs to be financially literate, including the use of budgeting spreadsheets, and should ideally liaise with the current Treasurer or Vice-President in advance of nominating. *B. AoIR Governance and Description of Elected Positions:* The organizational structure of AoIR is simple. There are 5 officers (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Graduate Student representative). The 9-member Executive Committee consists of these officers, plus the Past President and 3 Open Seat representatives. Elected officials hold their positions for two years. After two years, the Vice President becomes President. Nominations are invited for Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Graduate Student representative, and 3 Open Seats. You may nominate yourself or someone else you think would do a good job. Details on the nomination procedure follow below. Nominations officially open on 11 March 2023. Duties of the President: Article 4/Section 6 of AoIR's bylaws. Duties of the Vice President: Article 4/Section 7 of AoIR's bylaws. Duties of the Secretary: Article 4/Section 8 of AoIR's bylaws. Duties of the Treasurer: Article 4/Section 9 of AoIR's bylaws. Duties of the Graduate Student Representative: Article 4/Section 10 of AoIR's bylaws. Duties of Open Seat representatives: Represent the membership of AoIR, and contribute to decision-making. Members of the Executive have their membership fees waived for the duration of their term, and pay a reduced conference registration fee. *C. Nominations and Elections Processes:* *Only current members of AoIR can run for a position.* They may be nominated by anyone, including themselves. If nominated for more than one position, a nominee must choose to run for one (and only one) position in this election. You may nominate yourself or others. If nominating someone else, confirm with that person that they are willing to run, and eligible to do so. Self-Nominations: Email AoIR Association Coordinator Michelle at <ac at aoir dot org> and indicate the position for which you are nominating yourself. Please provide in your nomination email a short candidate statement addressing the questions below. Nominating Others: Email AoIR Association Coordinator Michelle at <ac at aoir dot org> with the name of the person you want to nominate, the position for which you are nominating this person, contact information for the person, and an indication of whether you know if this person would accept this nomination. (If you don't know, we'll contact them and ask.) All candidates for election will be required to provide answers to the questions listed below, have the answers posted to the AoIR election forum, and participate in an online candidate forum. In addition, the Graduate Student candidates must confirm in their response that they comply with the by-laws: the Graduate Student Representative must be actively enrolled in a degree program at the time of nomination and election. The Treasurer needs to be financially literate, including the use of budgeting spreadsheets, and should ideally liaise with the current Treasurer or Vice-President in advance of nominating. The voting system used by AoIR allows one vote per member for each of the elected positions listed above. Votes will be tallied using a balloting software. In the case of the four directly elected officers, the candidate with the highest number of votes shall be declared the winner; in the case of the Open Seats, the candidates with the highest, second-highest, and third-highest votes shall be declared the three winners of the Open Seats. In the case of tied results for the officer positions, the winner shall be determined by the ballot counters, by drawing of lots, using a method that ensures each of the tying candidates has an equal chance of success and witnessed by at least 1 person independent of the association. In the case of tied results for the open seat positions, the drawing of lots shall be used only when there are more tied candidates than seats available. *D. Questions for Candidates (these questions must be answered in yournomination email):* 1. What are your qualifications for this position (including prior experience and participation in AoIR)? 2. Please describe two or three short-term goals you would like to achieve through membership on the executive (including a rationale for each and how you would contribute to their achievement). 3. What is your long-term vision for AoIR? 4. What else should voters consider when deciding on whether or not to vote for you? In answering the questions, please be concise and give information specific to the position for which you are nominating, to enable voters to assess your case for election to that position.
