The project will include working groups co-hosted by other DC think tanks, commissioned papers, and other multimedia products. The core issue at hand is the future of Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. The ideal applicant will thus demonstrate a deep understanding of Section 230, the First Amendment, and the myriad legal and political issues surrounding online speech. This is a part-time position, the hourly commitment varying from 2-15 hours per week. However, in recent years a number of game scholars have applied intersectional lenses to understand pleasure in all its complexity, challenging both canonical theories of play and celebratory marketing rhetoric. Problematic Pleasures in Digital Games and Play brings four prominent international game scholars into dialogue to critically unpack the diverse and not always harmless ways that pleasure moves us in and through play. Pleasure is not all fun and games, and this unique event will generate new insights and directions of inquiry for game studies and the wider humanities. Featuring: Christopher B. *Call for Paper – The 7th International Workshop on Mobile Data Management, Mining, and Computing on Social Networks (MobiSocial 2022)* Social network and mining research has advanced rapidly with the prevalence of the online social websites and instant messaging social communications systems. In addition, thanks to the recent advances in deep learning, many novel applications with mobile devices and social networks have been proposed and deployed. These social network systems are usually characterized by complex network structures and abundant contextual information. Moreover, by incorporating the spatial dimension, mobile and location-based social networks are now immersed in people’s everyday life via numerous innovative websites. In addition, mobile social networks can be exploited to foster many interesting applications and analysis, such as recommendations of locations and travel planning of friends, location-based viral marketing, community discovery, group mobility and behavior modeling. The 7th International Workshop on Mobile Data Management, Mining, and Computing on Social Networks (MobiSocial 2022) will serve as a forum for researchers and technologists to discuss the state-of-the-art, present their contributions, and set future directions in data management, machine learning and knowledge mining for mobile social networks. This special issue brings together eight research articles that engage with the collaborative efforts embedded in various types of activism by studying features such as the socio-technical systems involved; how the activism is organized; relations between traditional and social media; and the complex network of systems, information, people, values, theories, histories, ideologies, and aesthetics that constitutes such activisms. The articles show the spaces in which this activism materializes, and particularly their situation in several intersecting dimensions including motivation, culture, language, and infrastructure. Together, these articles reflect the methodological breadth required to materialize online activism and the need to develop a more nuanced conceptualization of the media ecologies involved. By mapping out how activism is enabled and constrained by human-computer interfaces, this special issue contributes to open up the black box of online activism.
