The E-Voting System Demo-type of submissions will be published online in the TalTech press proceedings. The submission of poster type can be of preliminary or finished work on the topics mentioned in the conference topics below. Poster presentations will give you a chance to present your work and get feedback from other attendees. To join the session, it is necessary to prepare a Short Paper of maximum two pages and submit this by 15 September via Easychair. The submission for posters will not appear in the proceedings. How to search web pages published years ago?

Hi, I’m looking for a way to do a web search (like a Google search) but only pages published between two dates. Is there a way to do that? I’m aware of archive.org, but their search engine is very limited and do not let me do that. I would be already happy if I can search content that is still available online but remove recent result (exemple: “page published before 2015”). Regards, Simon Perdrisat

Online version: https://tics.site/cfp/ # TICS 2020 **Co-located with the [2020 IEEE/WIC/ACM International Joint Conference on Web Intelligence and Intelligent Agent Technology (WI-IAT 2020)](http://wi2020.vcrab.com.au/), to be held online.** ## Introduction Over the past years there has been a greater demand from large-scale players such as governments and dominant media companies for online censorship and surveillance, as an understandable reaction against hate speech, copyright violations, and other cases related to citizen compliance with civil laws and regulations by national authorities. Unfortunately, this is often accompanied by a tendency of extensively censoring online content and massively spying on citizens actions. Numerous whistle-blower revelations, leaks from classified documents, and a vast amount of information released by activists, researchers and journalists, reveal evidence of government-sponsored infrastructure that either goes beyond the requirements and scope of the law, or operates without any effective regulations in place. In addition, this infrastructure often supports the interests of big private corporations, such as the companies that enforce online copyright control. Mobile networks are particularly vulnerable to the above points. Due to the nature of their deployment, few actors can achieve far-reaching results, and end-users are left unprotected; we are interested in tracking developments that, without sacrificing functionality and convenience, allow end-users to get control on the amount and breadth of information generated, stored and processed on them. TICS is a special track the area of Internet censorship, surveillance and other adversarial burdens to technology that bring in danger; to a greater extend the safety (physical security and privacy) of its users. Proposals for TICS 2020 should be situated within the field of Internet censorship, network measurements, information controls, surveillance and content moderation. ## Workshop topics The goal of TICS is to raise awareness around the implications of network interference, by inviting researchers from complementary disciplines to consider the effect of their own domain on online censorship and surveillance. Looking for an RA

I have some funding to hire an a research assistant to help with a project examining the phenomenon of Caremongering in Canada during COVID-19. Most of the Caremongering groups have used Facebook to organize. I already have the list of names and links to all the groups. The first stage in the project will gather descriptive data about each of the 170+ groups from each of the Facebook sites, including description of group, site rules, and available information about the site administrators/organizers. A survey will then be sent to the administrators of these sites; colleagues will also be sending the same survey out to 1,000+ mutual aid groups on the Town Hall mutual aid site in the US. More detailed analysis of activity of a select number of the Canadian Caremongering groups will then follow, with the analysis drawing from activity theory as well as other relevant conceptual frameworks in the disaster management field to assess the nature of the posts on these sites. Findings will be compared to what we know about place-based and virtual-convergence after other types of disaster events. If you know of someone who might be interested, please have them message me. We are looking for candidates interested in digital campaigning, social media and comparative research approaches. About the position The research field for the position is political communication, and the position is connected to the research group "Elections, Values and Political Communication (EVPOC)". The project is rooted in the international research network "Digital Campaigning Worldwide (DigiWorld)". This cross-nationally comparative project compares the digital campaigning strategies of political parties in national election campaigns around the world. The project is particularly interested in how parties use social media for informing, interacting with, and mobilizing the voters in election campaigns, in user engagement, and in factors influencing parties' and users' activities. The project has an explicit international comparative dimension. The PhD candidate will conduct research that contributes to the further development of this network, focusing on the Norwegian parliamentary election 2021. The Department of Sociology and Political Science (ISS) is committed to carrying out teaching, research, and dissemination of knowledge in sociology, political science, sport science, and media studies. The Department has approximately 95 employees and is involved in 11 study programs. ISS is characterised by a strong focus on the social sciences with the emphasis on sociology and political science, contributing to multidisciplinary study programs and research at NTNU. Hello, The Centre for Law and Policy Research, India, is calling for papers for a volume on 'The Philosophy and Law of Information Regulation in India'. This project is an effort to collate multi-disciplinary scholarship on the subject of the law and philosophy of information regulation, with a specific focus on India. We invite multi-disciplinary submissions from fields of law, history of science, science and technology studies, informatics and information sciences, political and economic philosophy, design studies, and other related fields to reflect on the relationship between law, technology and information, with specific reference to the institutions of public law in India. Submissions taking a comparative approach between jurisdictions addressing similar concerns are particularly appreciated.
