Dans le cadre du DataLab AnalyTrics (Analytics & Metrics), vous mettrez en place l’infrastructure de traitement de données volumineuses dans un mode streaming. Vous apporterez ensuite votre expertise dans la mise en oeuvre de chaines de traitements pour ces données par des méthodes de segmentation, de détection d’anomalies, la correspondance d’entités et autres approches liées à l’analyse de données. Ces chaines de traitement de bout en bout seront composées de modules de collecte et de nettoyage de données, de génération d’attributs ainsi que des modules d’analyse et de représentation/restitution d’information (indicateurs et visualisation). Les problématiques des traitements respectueux des données seront aussi abordées. Compétences : Les candidats doivent posséder un doctorat en informatique ou dans un domaine proche (mathématiques appliquées, analyse de données, etc.). Des compétences en développement informatique sont nécessaires pour pouvoir contribuer à ce projet. Des compétences en infrastructures de calcul distribué (Hadoop, Spark etc) seraient un plus. Project overview The collaborative economy is subject to a large media coverage due to its penetration into various aspects of our society, including consumption, production, financing and knowledge production. The world of entrepreneurship is likewise impacted by new economic and collaborative models. From idea to startup creation, networking and collaboration can accelerate a projectâ€™s development and facilitate its implementation. The main objective of this research project is to understand the underlying mechanisms facilitating the development of collective intelligence, particularly through digital platforms. [REQUEST] What are internet research's iconic diagrams?

If you were to pick a handful of the most iconic diagrams across internet research, theory, and history, what would they be? I'm trying to compile as many diagrams as possible. They could also be graphs, charts, photographs, drawings, etc. They could come from sociology, anthropology, computer science, physics, etc. They could also relate to social theories that are particularly prescient for internet studies. For example, I think the diagram of distributed networks in Paul Baran's 1964 "On Distributed Communications" ( http://www.rand.org/content/dam/rand/pubs/research_memoranda/2006/RM3420.pdf, diagram on p. 16 of the PDF) is a great example of what I'm looking for. For another example in the theoretical realm, perhaps the "two-step flow" model from Katz & Lazarfeld's 1955 Personal Influence ( https://www.utwente.nl/cw/theorieenoverzicht/Theory%20Clusters/Mass%20Media…, scroll down for the diagram). Does anyone else have pointers to any other iconic diagrams? Activism, Scholarship & the Internet* Tuesday, October 4, 2016, 2-6pm Berlin, Germany (location TBA) *Workshop organizers:* Nathalie Maréchal, University of Southern California/Ranking Digital Rights Jillian York, Centre for Internet and Human Rights/Onlinecensorship.org Many Internet researchers straddle the line between academic Internet research and digital rights advocacy, including hacker communities. This workshop aims to strengthen the ties between these two modes of inquiry, leveraging AoIR 2016’s location in Berlin to invite digital rights activists from outside the academy to engage with the scholarly conversation. While many scholars and activists express interest in cross-sector collaboration, there are a number of barriers to such efforts, including mismatches between the career incentives, funding mechanisms, and timelines prevalent in the academic and NGO worlds. Nevertheless, the organizers of this half-day workshop have found that collaboration between civil society and academia are crucial to both research and to change. The first portion of the workshop (two hours) aims to: - Explore what “research” means to scholars and to activists - Surface the barriers to cross-sector collaboration - Brainstorm strategies for transcending such barriers - Provide a networking forum for scholars and activists working on similar or complementary projects The second portion of the workshop (two hours) will include a dive into the world of commercial content moderation. Using a fishbowl format, we will hear from experts looking at the the topic from a variety of angles: as an issue of labor, of free expression, and of information hegemony. The graphic is notable for its representation in two dimensions of six types of data: the number of Napoleon's troops; distance; temperature; the latitude and longitude; direction of travel; and location relative to specific dates.
