It is conducted in conjunction with the local community, bringing together researchers, practitioners and policy makers with the residents of Bario and the wider Kelabit indigenous ethnic community. The eBKF is a pioneering example of Development Conferencing, the process by which development specialists articulate their plans and share their ideas together with the people whose lives they are trying to improve, and in their own surroundings. Theme The Third Knowledge Fair will adopt a theme of Technological Innovation for Indigenous Peoples. As part of this, and with the assistance of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the Knowledge Fair will feature the Asian recipients of grants under the IFAD's Indigenous Peoples Assistance Facility (26 projects in 13 countries) with particular reference to their potential use of Information and Communication Technologies and sources of renewable energy in support of development for Indigenous Peoples. graduate student funding options

In the world of sciences, there are lots of funding programs that exist beyond a graduate student's home institution. The US's NSF, for example, has all sorts of programs that incoming students can apply for and have their entire graduate school paid for without placing any burden on their home institution. (In lots of programs, this makes taking someone with an NSF grant an extra special appeal.) I'm trying to get a sense of what programs exist out there in the social scientists / internet studies / digital humanities space. I'm mainly looking for programs that help fund people to attend US institutions (whether they are US citizens or not). I recognize that the norm is for the department itself to fund through faculty grants, TA-ships, and university dissertation fellowships, but I'm wondering if there are non-institution specific programs out there in the amorphous field we call internet studies. This is the first conference on European soil, after Games for Health conferences have been taking place annually in Boston for the past seven years. Rehabilitation games Patients going through rehabilitation after disease and injury are experiencing pain and discomfort. By using games both as distraction and rehabilitation techniques, this track explores the possibility of helping them. Medical education, medical training, medical modeling & medical simulation In a world where the US military is recruiting hardcore gamers for support roles, video games have been recognized as a tool for improving one’s skills and reflexes.
