Stefania, you may wish to network with some of the folks in Georgia Tech's college of computing social computing group -- I am thinking particularly of Sarita Yardi who I believe does some work on blogs . . . there is rather a dearth of people at Emory who do computing in the way you do, but I would recommend you check with Debra Spitulnik in linguistic anthropology. I used to study blogs and would be happy to talk with you further about your specific project to see if I can help you off list: I am not familiar with frame analysis so I would like to know more about your analytical approach before suggesting resources for method. Apologies for cross-posting. *Diary Marker Text* Dear Colleagues, WISE KIDS are in the process of organising a National Conference in Wales together with the Wales Internet Safety Partnership (WISP), entitled: Young People, Mobile and Internet Technologies 2008 - Maximising Opportunities, Addressing Challenges The conference will be held at the Richard Ley Development Centre in Swansea on the 20th of October 2008. The conference will focus on raising awareness of young people's use of Internet and mobile technologies, and will examine what issues educators, youth professionals and policy makers need to address to ensure that young people have the necessary skills and knowledge to use these media confidently, and explore the opportunities these present. Challenges and risks associated with these media will also be discussed, and the conference will explore the legal and safeguarding issues that schools and other organisations need to address to minimise risk caused by misuse of these media. The key strands will be around innovative use of technology in education, children's experiences in virtual worlds, digital literacy, e-safety - legal and good practice guidelines. It is hoped that this conference will stimulate discussion, ideas and concrete action points that can help the sector move forward as a whole, in a way that truly supports young people, and those who work with them. Hi all, I have been wondering about what the social online norms are for reusing or reposting blog posts across different blogs. Let's say you have a personal blog and also contribute to a group blog - under what circumstance would it be okay to reuse a post you wrote for one blog for the other blog, assuming the post is relevant for both blogs? When do you integrally copy the post, and when do you write a summary linking to the original post? Are there other ways to deal with this? Is this something considered not done at all? What are people's experiences and feelings on this? Thanks! Best, Lokman
