The preferred candidate must possess outstanding academic credentials that clearly demonstrate the ability to conduct successful research in emerging areas of digital media such as human computer interaction, user experience, social media, data analytics, game studies, and/or computer-mediated communication. The preferred candidate will be responsible for conducting an independent program of research while also teaching courses in the undergraduate program related to these topics and areas of expertise. The DIGM program also teaches courses in print/packaging design, digital media production, and production management. Work experience in related technological fields is desirable. Additionally, this person will participate in program, department, and college committee assignments and in other activities related to the DIGM program and the rest of the campus. The DIGM undergraduate program in the Information and Logistics Technology Department, College of Technology, is a growing program with several production and research labs. *SCOPE AND MOTIVATION* Recently, social network research has advanced rapidly with the prevalence of online social applications and mobile social communications systems. Metaverse has emerged as one of the future Internet for business, socialization, entertainment, and education in fully connected, immersive, and engaging online 3D virtual experiences. Nevertheless, the ongoing pandemic via contact social networks has caused tremendous human life and economic loss around the world, and infodemic is one of the major social impacts that make people difficult to discriminate trustworthy sources, from false and manipulative information sources. Therefore, researchers are increasingly interested in addressing a wide spectrum of challenges in social networks, such as developing social-aware algorithms for communications systems, identifying the topological common structures and information/influence flows, analyzing the social media and evolutions of social graphs, and exploiting location-based and contextual information embedded in mobile social networks to create innovative applications. Due to its increasing prevalence and interdisciplinary nature, social networks have also attracted intensive research interests across multiple disciplines, including artificial intelligence, blockchain, big data analytics, information security and privacy protection, psychology, and marketing. In light of the above crucial needs, Selected Areas in Communication Symposium in Social Networks will serve as a forum for researchers and technologists from academia, industry, and government to discuss the state-of-the-art, present their cutting-edge innovations and contributions, and set future directions in all aspects of social networks. CALL FOR TUTORIALS IEEE International Conference on High Performance Switching and Routing Artificial Intelligent Next Generation (NextG) Integrated Communications and Computing Systems 5-7 June 2023 @ Albuquerque, New Mexico https://www.ieee-hpsr.org/ https://twitter.com/ieeehpsr2023 https://hpsr2023.ieee-hpsr.org/authors/call-for-tutorials/ *IEEE HPSR 2023 Organizing Committee is planning for an in-person conference and encourages the authors to participate physically; however, we understand that the pandemic situation is not over yet. Therefore, depending on the situation during the conference time, remote participation and online presentation may be allowed under special circumstances. IEEE HPSR 2023 seeks tutorial proposals on new and emerging topics within the scope of the conference. Guideline for Tutorial Proposals The proposal should not exceed 4 one-column pages and must include: 1. Title 2. Name, affiliation, and a short biography of each tutorial speaker. 3. Abstract, objectives, and motivation. 4. Timeliness, duration (e.g., 1.5h; 3h) and intended audience. 5. A description of the technical issues that the tutorial will address, emphasizing its timeliness. 6. An outline of the tutorial content, including its tentative schedule. 7. Pre-required environment (e.g., Virtual machine, PC characteristics, AWS account, etc.) 8. If appropriate, a description of the past/relevant experience of the speaker(s) on the topic of the tutorial. CFM: Black Lives Matter, Ten Years Later

Greetings! 2023 marks the ten-year anniversary of Black Live Matter (BLM), a grassroots and decentralized political/social movement seeking criminal justice for African Americans. BLM which began in 2013 as a hashtag #BlackLivesMatter on social media after the acquittal of George Zimmerman in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, evolved into street demonstrations against police brutality in 2014 following the deaths of Eric Garner in New York City, and Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. In the subsequent years, in light of the deaths of numerous African Americans by police actions, many demonstrations, rallies, and die-ins were organized by BLM across the United States. What began as an online platform with a set of goals seeking criminal justice for African Americans, quickly expanded to a national network of over 30 chapters by 2016. The most notable demonstration of BLM movement occurred in 2020 following the murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin. An estimated 26 million people participated in the 2020 BLM protests in the United States, calling for criminal justice reform, as one of the largest demonstrations in U.S. history. In 2021, BLM was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. The Internet, not only was responsible for the expansions of the BLM movement across the United States, but also was credited for garnishing global solidarity around the world. People in many countries organized demonstrations in support of the BLM movement in the U.S.--Germany, Japan, Canada, Denmark, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. BLM's Nobel Peace Prize nomination was submitted by Norwegian Parliament member, Peter Eide. Given the significance of the BLM movement, at its tenth anniversary, it is important to reflect on what the movement has accomplished in the past 10 years, as well as to project what the movement could attain in the future. More importantly, it is crucial to examine what political/social movements in the U.S., as well as those around the world, could learn from the BLM movement. It is with these goals, my colleagues and I are editing a volume, Black Lives Matter, Ten Year Later, and we are seeking your contribution. If you are interested in contributing to this volume, please send Shing-Ling Sarina Chen (sarina.chen(a)uni.edu) a 750-word (no more than 1000 words) abstract of your work by November 15, 2022. Please note that original research, empirical or theoretical, utilizing any perspective is welcomed.
